I’m Valerie Lynn from Los Angeles, California. I could write this bio in third person to make myself seem more official and like I have people who do this stuff for me but I’m writing it…so that seemed a bit silly.
As a young teen, High School Show Choir was my first experience performing in a group with an ensemble. With this group I learned a lot of the basics about live performance, got to compete with some seriously talented schools, and travelled to New York, Orlando, and Hawaii for competitions and performances. During this time, I also spent a lot of time in a recording studio, writing and recording songs for some demos and for an EP. As a bonus we also filmed some music videos.
After finishing high school, I left Los Angeles to attend Belmont University in Nashville, TN. While there I studied commercial vocal performance and got to experience what was like living in one of the most popular music capitals, Nashville. I loved performing in both classical and commercial ensembles, learning how to read and write music and taking dance class in my spare time.
I finished my studies back in Los Angeles at California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Industry Studies. I spent a year working for one the largest concert promotion companies called Goldenvoice (Creator of Coachella, Desert Trip and Stagecoach). During this year, I realized that singing and live performance was my calling and left the wonderful company to pursue more of my career as a professional singer.
Since then I have performed professionally as a production singer overseas at a theme park multiple times and on a Norwegian Cruise Line cruise ship. I have performed in a classic rock cover band around the LA area and took various dance classes at local hollywood studios. I am proud to say I have even written, recorded and released one of my own original songs as well.
Currently, I reside in Europe and I am still working as a production singer and writing some new music. Making the switch to live over here hasn’t been entirely easy but I’m excited for the future and enjoying the challenge. Join me on my journey to remain a professional singer in this crazy industry we call show biz.
